He was predeceased by: his former wives, Evelyn J. McLuskey and Doris Murdoch; his daughter Penny L. Wheeler; and his siblings, William Hatch and Iris Hatch.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Hatch, Betty Lou Waldron (Paul) and Carey B. Hatch, III (Candy); his sister Arline Atkinson; and his grandchildren, Deborah J. (Steve Featherstone), Sean Mann, Jeremy Mann, Keith Waldron (Christine), Kevin Waldron (Peggyann), Adam Hatch (Rachel), Kyle Hatch and Alissa Hatch.
