He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Weingartner and Alice Rasmussen Weingartner; and his siblings, Janet Christie (Robert), Norman and Gordon Weingartner.

He is survived by: his nephews, Paul Christie (Eleanor) of Troy and Norman Christie (WeiChi) of Watervliet; and his niece Susan Kirsch (Timothy) of Rensselaer. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
