He is survived by: his sister-in-law Nancy Millington Pierson; his significant other Mary Alice Pierson; his son Douglas Joseph Pierson Jr.; his siblings, Thomas L. Pierson, Shirley Pierson Coon [Ralph] and Donald W. Pierson [Marylou Mosher]; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Burch. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
