She was predeceased by: her parents, Loretta Lounsbury and Marshall Lounsbury of Black River, NY.; her husband Francis R. Gates; her daughter Kathy; and her siblings, Bill and Kay.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Gates (Diane), Cindy Todd (Gill), Maureen Grant (Bob Billings), Martin Gates, Sheila Cooley (Lon) and Timothy Gates (Debbie); and her brother Jack Lounsbury (Jackie). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to St. Therese Academy, 68 County Route 55, Nicholville, NY 12965.
