He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hyla and Mary Hyla (Lotnik); his wife France (Fitt); his daughter Lynn Marie; and his siblings, Henry, Chester, Joseph Hyla, Lottie Soldon, Jean Langley, Stella Ziolkowski, Loretta Labus and Sophie Ciszek.

He is survived by: his son Robert Hyla (Rebecca); and his grandchildren, Robert Hyla Jr. and Lauren Hyla. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
