He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Thaler and Marilyn Thaler (Force). He is survived by: his daughter Kristen Dyster (Bert); and his siblings, Danny Thaler (Patty), Randy Bucholtz (Debra) and Wendy Scarantine (Gary). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission or a charity of one's choice.
