He was predeceased by: his parents, Keith Gilmore and Myral Gilmore (Lewis); and his sister Valerie C. (Michael). He is survived by: his sons, Darrian L. Gilmore Sr. and Russell S (Fasceli); his grandchildren, Darrian Jr. and Viktoria; and his brother David V (Andrea).

“Keith was a childhood friend who was always kind and friendly. Ours was a neighborhood where kids hung out together all day long in the summer and after school, and he was always good for a joke or a prank. He had a good word for everybody, and his unfailing good nature made him a peacemaker when there were conflicts.. I hadn't seen him in many years, but he's remained a big part of my earliest memories. He was very special. Heartfelt condolences to his family and to all who loved him.”
