He was predeceased by: his mother Anna Grannis Sr. (Zezoney); and his sister Doris Brenneman (late Richard). He is survived by: his father August Grannis; his spouse Shirley Y. Grannis (Bowser); his children, John E. Grannis Jr., Cynthia A. Defilippis (Joe) and Susan M. Rice (Steven); and his grandchildren, Nicole Grannis, Tiffani Grannis, April Alderson (Brandon), Michael Grannis, Stefanie Defilippis, Connie Borman (JJ), Frankie Defilippis (Casey), Joseph Defilippis (Chantal), Rebecca Rice, Brianna Boliver (Jessie), Melissa Rice (Marie), Stephen Michael and Erica Renee Grannis Rice. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
