She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Pettigrew Sr. and Ethel Sewell (Crochan); her husband Michael D. Penn; and her brother Ernest Pettigrew Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Brittany Pettigrew; her grandchildren, Bryan Pettigrew, Brylynn, Bryan II and Bryson "MJ"; and her sisters, Louise Herds, Glinda Estell (Howard) and Gloria Pettigrew.
