He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur and Adele Bateman, Jr. (Wiatr); and his brother Michael Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Jody A. [Fields] Bateman; his children, LeighAnn Bateman Smouse (Will Colley) and James Bateman (Jenna Passaro); his siblings-in-law, JoAnn Fields Swick, Judy Fields Alexander, William Fields (Judy Pullito) and John Fields; and his in-laws, William and Lorraine Mazzei Fields. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in his name may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or Niagara Hospice.
