With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald J. Fending Sr. of Niagara Falls, New York, born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 27, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Fending and Alberta Fending (Laughblaugh); his wife Phyllis Fending (Prue); and his brother Joseph Fending, Jr. (Phyllis). He is survived by: his children, Donald J. Fending, Jr. (Kate), David Fending (Deborah), Daniel Fending (Kim) and Diane Anderson (Thomas); his grandchildren, Donald "Trey" Fending III (Shannon), Colleen Bellardini (Joseph), Dr. Philip Fending (Sarah), David Arthur Fending (Michelle), Dean Fending, Tyler Fending, Amanda Smith (Chad) and Allison Hogan (Prestin Boyce); and his siblings, Mary-Louise Daigler (late Richard) and Thomas Fending (Linda). He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
