He was predeceased by: his parents, Jennings Maurer and Dorothy Maurer (Myers); and his son Joseph A. Maurer. He is survived by: his son Carl D. Maurer, Jr. (Staci Arnold); his grandsons, Justin Koch and Jeremy Maurer; his great grandchildren, Atticus and Jewelles; and his siblings, Carol Skirlin (late Ralph), Richard Maurer (Terri) and Gerald Maurer (Michelle). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
