She was predeceased by: her parents, John Steel and Margaret Merritt Steel McFiggins; her stepfather Robert McFiggins; and her parents-in-law, Raymond Sr. and Alma Wheaton (Baylor).
She is survived by: her husband Raymond Wheaton, Jr.; her children, Raymond III (Renée) of Freedom, NH, Debra Beyer of Newfield, NY, Yvonne Knickerbocker (Chad) of Candor, NY and James (Tina Ovitt) of Wilton, NY; her grandson Matthew Wheaton (Chantel) of Pingree Grove, Illinois; her children, Jacob Wheaton of Ames, Iowa, Ryan Wheaton of Ithaca, NY, Tyler and Emma Knickerbocker of Candor, NY.; and her siblings, Matthew Steel (Donna), Margaret Matt (Howard), David Steel, John Steel and George Steel (Marsha).
Due to COVID, there will be no services at this time.
