He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter Thursam and Irene Thursam (Marsh); his wife Patricia (Petie); and his daughters, Kelly Eick (Kenneth) and Kathleen Bower. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of their choice.
