He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicola Cappello and Carmela Cappello (Maffei); his daughter Sandra Ciccarelli; and his siblings, Sandra Moschetto, Angelo Cappello, Philomena and Andrew Cappello.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Cappello-MacDonald of Fishkill and Camille Cappello-Chapman of Wappingers Falls; his sister Yvonne Terwilliger; and his grandchildren, Lauren, James Jr., John Jr., Scott, Kenneth and Deona. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.
