He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth; his stepson Scott Helmrich; his parents, John Lanspery Sr. and Janet; and his siblings, Jeanne, James, Jeff, Ken and Gary.
He is survived by: his sons, Peter Lanspery and John Lanspery (Rene); his brothers, David Lanspery (Elaine) and Robert Lanspery (Dorothy); and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Lanspery and Sylvia Lanspery. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
