He was predeceased by: his parents, William Knepp and Laura Knepp (Earnest); and his siblings, Butch, Richard, Clifford, Bill and Judy.

He is survived by: his children, Angel DeRue (Michael) and Patrick Knepp; his grandchildren, SkyLynn DeRue, Timothy Fackelman, Ariana Fackelman and Madison Knepp; the mother of his children Sherry Knepp; and his siblings, Sue (Albert), Teresa (Larry), Betsy, Annie, Linda and John. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
