He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nye and Ethel Nye (Calkins); his daughter Rose Harper; his stepson Thomas Caralla, Jr.; his brother Milfred Nye (Geraldine); and his brothers-in-law, William Chapman and Robert Baldorf.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his stepsons, Edward Caralla and Scott Caralla (Sheila); his grandchildren, Thomas III Caralla (Amanda), Nathan Caralla (Sarah), Nichole Caralla, Courtney Caralla (Ryan Fordham), Ronald Harper and Gerilynn Harper; his great grandchildren, Kaleb, Mya and Nolan; and his sisters, Patricia Chapman and Doris Baldorf. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
