Randy Hoskins Obituary
Randy Hoskins, 66, of Newark Valley passed away suddenly on January 13, 2023 following a brief illness. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Melissa; their children Randy Hoskins (Marjorie McCabe); Anthony Wheeler; Scott Wheeler; a loving grandpa and "Pop Pop" to Randy Jr., Janet, Samantha, Andrea and Hope; and a great grandson Lennox. Randy will also be missed by his siblings: Larry (John) Hoskins; Rusty (Diane) Hoskins; Donna Arnold, Judy Smith; a sister-in-law Judy Heeman; a brother-in-law: Dean Gurney; his mother-in-law: June Spoor; Melissa's siblings: Floyd Spoor, Jr., Sherry (Ray) Smith; Richard (Debbie) Spoor, Charlene Lake; many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive. Randy was welcomed into heaven by his parents; Robert and Evelyn Hoskins; his siblings: Cleo Wood, Gary Hoskins; Shirley (Raymond) Guiles, Raymond (Betty) Hoskins, Robert "Bobby" Hoskins, Sharon Gurney; brothers-in-Law: Harold Arnold and Gary Spoor; a daughter-in-law: Jessica Wheeler; son Brent Wheeler; sister-in-law: Andrea Holcombe; and father-in-law: Floyd Spoor, Sr.
Randy was born on October 6, 1956 in Binghamton, NY a son of the late Robert and Evelyn Hoskins. He was a 1975 graduate of Maine Endwell High School. For 38 years served as a heavy equipment operator with the Highway Department for Town of Maine. A loving husband, father, grandpa, Pop-Pop, brother and uncle Randy treasured the time spent with his family. He enjoyed hunting, the bounty of his garden, sharing his love of horseback riding with his granddaughters and visiting area casinos with Melissa. His handprint will forever remain on our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, January 19th from 3 – 6 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. A period of visitation will also be held on Friday from 10 am until time of the service at 11 am at the funeral home. Randy will be laid to rest in the Hope Cemetery.
