He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Ganiaris and Chryssanthe Ganiaris; his aunts, Stella Bakalas, Vaso Lamprinoudis and Argiro Sotirakis; his brother Andronikos Ganiaris; his nephew Michael Ganiaris; and his cousins, Androniki Kokkinakis and George Sotirakis.
He is survived by: his wife Stavroula (Metaxa); his children, Chryssanthe Ganiaris Detroyer (Michael Detroyer), Neophytos "Tex" Detroyer of New York City and Leonidas "Leo" Detroyer of New York City; and his sister Margarita Manolaki of Chios. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, it was Takis' wish that any memorial contributions be made to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
