She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Gimenez and Virginia Gimenez; and her siblings, Ramon, Mercy and Mona.

She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Simmons; her children, Arthur "PeeWee" Brown and Monique Ward (Anthony); her grandchildren, Chelsea Simpkins and Brandon Ward; and her siblings, Patrick, Rosa and Linda. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She enjoyed blessing others and was faithful in donating to and supporting the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the American Cancer Society.
