She was predeceased by: her parents, Drusilla Byrd and John Byrd Sr.. She is survived by: her aunt Lyda; her sister Janice (Rupert); her niece Carolyn; her nephews, Darryl, Greg and Christian; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Tionna, Kellie, Kamel, Corey, Nicholas, Tyler, Brandon and Brian; and also, Julia, Marli Justin, Christian Jr., Bogart and Trevor.
Betty was a lover of the arts, and a philanthropist, donating to various charities such as St. Jude's & Shriner's Children Hospital, World Wildlife Fund and PBS.
