He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nathan and Mary Nathan (Fine); and his sister Bernice. He is survived by: his wife Barbara F. Newman; his children, Matthew Nathan (Gillian) and Dr. Susan Nathan (Andrew Sutherland); and his grandchildren, Noah Nathan and Jane Sutherland.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Riverside Memorial Chapel (180 W 76th St, New York, NY 10023).
