He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John H. Staples and Ramona Staples; his close friend Joe Kwiatkowski; his son Perry; his wife Carmela; his son Peter (Marcia) of Portland; his daughter-in-law Karen of Cornwall; and his daughters, Alice (Dan) of Ashland and Ann of Palmer, Alaska. He was also cherished by 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, or Hudson Highlands Nature Museum.
