Peter L. Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 17, 2025, at the age of 94, Peter L. Smith of New Rochelle, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Peter farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Peter is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Lawson Smith and Quentin Irving Smith. He is survived by: his children, Tomas Smith, Holly Bedard of Pepperell, MA, Timothy Smith of Newburyport, MA, Jonathan Smith of Spokane, WA and Heather Smith of New Rochelle, NY; his godson Peter Kendell Clark; and his stepgrandson Marcus Burham. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. James (10 Church Ln, Scarsdale, NY 10583).
Donations can be made in his name to St. James the Less, the church he attended as a child and where he will be buried.
