Nicholas Lyras Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nicholas Lyras (New Rochelle, New York), born in Gary, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Nicholas departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Nicholas. Though Nicholas may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia; his children, Alexandra (Angelo) and Alexander (Christina); his grandchildren, Athanasia and Dimitrios; and his sister Maria Mercury (Michael).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (10 Mill Rd, New Rochelle, NY 10804). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Greenwood Union Cemetery (215 North St, Rye, NY 10580).
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Scholarship Fund, 10 Mill Road, New Rochelle, NY 10807.
