He is survived by: his wife Kitty Brown of New Paltz; his son Morgan T. Smith; his granddaughters, Georgia, Lola and Sofie of Toronto, Canada; his stepchildren, Jamie Vermilye of Highland, NY and Lydia Weiss (James Weiss); and his grandchildren, Rex and Eliza Weiss.
In lieu of flowers, and in loving memory of David's inseparable companion Stormy, the family requests that donations be made to the Walden Humane Society.
