He was predeceased by: his wife Elene Spies; and his son Erich Spies. He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Brewer of Lake Katrine, NY, Valerie Luedeke of New Paltz, NY and Diane Spies of Highland, NY; his children-in-law, Joseph Decapua and Stacy Spies; and his grandchildren, Jessica Brewer, Adam Brewer, Ryan Hoffman and Shelby Spies.
