A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family R. C. Church (175-20 74th Ave, Fresh Meadows, NY 11366).

“I am so sorry for your loss... Jim was one of my best father figures as my Swimming Coach. He took a young man who could barely swim (I almost drowned at my first team tryouts!) only to become a Captain of the team for my last two years at RHHS. In 2016, I set up a reunion dinner for him. He asked to see the teams from 1975, and 1987, and I obliged. It was priceless to see him that night, cherishing that moment. Rest In Peace, Coach Collins! -Clemente Rivera”
