He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Satterlee of Oriskany; his children, Diane Kurtz (Richard), William Murphy (Debbie) of Oriskany, Eileen Jones (Randle) of Taberg and Stuart C., Jr. Murphy (Nicole) of Vernon; his brothers, Richard M. Murphy of Oriskany and Robert Murphy (Pamela) of Oriskany; and his sister-in-law Ann C. Murphy. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
