He was predeceased by: his parents, Moe Jay and Anna Smith Silverman; and his brother Theodore Silverman. He is survived by: his wife Lois Tannenbaum; his daughter Susan Silverman; his son-in-law Steven Berkowitz; his grandchildren, Claire of Annandale, VA, Gail Silverman Androphy and Ezra Androphy; his great grandchildren, Sara and Alex of Philadelphia, PA; his siblings, Esther Mitkoff of Albany and Charles; his siblings-in-law, Janet Silverman and Joel Seif of New Hartford; and also Dr. Joan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
