It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen S. Estey of New Hartford, New York, born in Archbald, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Shemonsky and Anna Shemonsky (Zavaliauskas); and her brothers, John, Simon, Edward, Martin, Frank, Robert and Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Estey of Woodland Park, NJ, Robert Estey (Deborah) of Reistertown, MD and Janice Estey of New Hartford, NY; her siblings, Anne Marie Wojcicki of Dallas, TX and Joseph Jr. of Archbald, PA; her nephews, Robert (Sandra) of Chester Springs, PA, Eugene (FL) and Kenneth Shemonsky; her friends, Judith and Randall McCanney; and also Ellie.
Helen was an avid bridge player, playing several times a week at Alteri's Restaurant, the American Legion Post 1376, and friends' homes until March 2020, when COVID-19 ended their groups.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church, 66 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
