We are sad to announce that on November 16, 2024, at the age of 88, Barbara A. Nelson of Nedrow, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry VanAuken and Dorothy VanAuken; her brother Perry VanAuken; her son Gerald Nelson; her granddaughter Kathryn Nelson; and her brother-in-law Christopher Jamison.
She is survived by: her significant other Thomas Nelson; her sons, Timothy (Debra) and Donald (Regina); her grandchildren, Erik (Jessica), Christina (Craig) and Cecil; her great grandchildren, Payton, Shane, Avery, Ashlyn and Kole; her sisters-in-law, Signe Nelson and Nancy Henrickson; and her nieces, Kim, Linda, Amanda and Emelia.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Butler-Badman Funeral Home (4504 W Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at the Onondaga Valley Cemetery (2500 Valley Dr, Nedrow, NY 13120).
