He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Isabel Porter; his son Gene; and his siblings, James, Robert, Charles, Louella Gordon, George, Isabel Lewis, John and Matthew.
He is survived by: his wife Marianna; his children, Carole Ann (Gerard) and Rashid; his daughter-in-law Lisette; his grandchildren, Christina, Gene, Christopher, Aminah, Samiyah, Ahmad and Aza; his great grandchild Curtis Gene; and his sisters, Florence Spooner (Gerard), Margaret Porter (Henry) and Patricia Cooke (Leon). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
