She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gordon Gilbert and Sophie Siemarz Gilbert; her husband George C. Shepard; her son Scott G. Shepard (Cathy) of Munnsville; her grandson David Shepard (Stephanie); her great grandchildren, Niaomi and Amelia; her sister Judy Molinski of Oklahoma; her sister-in-law Nina Mitchell of Canastota; and her brother Gordon Gilbert. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
