Margaret C. Whiting Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret C. Whiting of Mount Vernon, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 3, 2025 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Margaret C. Whiting to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Walter F. Whiting; her brother Edward Melinsky; and her nephew Donald Melinsky (Jennifer). She is survived by: her sons, Robert (Carolyn), James (Italia) and Thomas; her daughter-in-law Mona; her grandchildren, Annemarie Folken (Ryan), Matt, Tommy and Chris Whiting; her great grandchildren, Carter and Amelia Folken; her sister-in-law Patricia; her niece Judy Franco; and her cousin David Stolte (Trudy).
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home (584 Gramatan Ave, Mt Vernon, NY 10552). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Luthren Church at the Wartburg Home (1 Station Pl, Mt Vernon, NY 10552). A burial was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at the Ferncliff Cemetery (280 Secor Rd, Hartsdale, NY 10530).
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Waterview Hills Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Purdy's NY or Mount Sinai Health System, Multiple Myeloma Program, PO Box 1049, New York, NY 10029, as her son Tom recently succumbed to Multiple Myeloma.
