She was predeceased by: her parents, George Wade and Christine Wade. She is survived by: her children, Vivian, Dorothy, Crystal and George Allen; her former husband James Pridgen; her husband Dr. Robert Z. Carey; her stepson Charles "Chuckie"; her children, James "Derrick" Pridgen (Denise), Shannon A. Pridgen of Brooklyn, NY, Charles C. Carey of Rhode Island and Corey C. Carey of Mt. Vernon, NY; her grandson Nigel Pridgen of Harlem; and her brothers, George Anderson Wade and George Allen Wade (Simone) of Elmont, NY. She is also survived by nephews and nieces.
