He was predeceased by: his parents, Roswell Light and Edna Light (Brunelle); his wife Mercedes Sweet (Merc); his sisters, Eileen Makara and Elizabeth Balkus; and his great grandchild Zoey Light.
He is survived by: his family Plattsburgh of John's Academy; his children, Betty Stine (Lee), Brian Light (Kathleen), Julie Dumas (Ron) and Robert Light, Jr. (Janelle); his grandchildren, Melissa Light, Joseph Light (Tiffani), Thomas Stine and Robert Light III (Abbey); his great grandchildren, Gabriel Guerrero, Anabel Guerrero, Evelyn Light, Adeline Light, Lila Light, Edward "Eddie" Light and Richard "Ricky" Light; and his siblings-in-law, Lee Sweet, Reginald Sweet and Judy Nelson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
