He was predeceased by: his parents, Julienne Bourgeois and Oliver Bourgeois; his daughter Brenda Deer (John); his brother Leonard Bourgeois (Helen); and his brother-in-law James Nissen (Harriett).
He is survived by: his wife Doris Nissen; his children, Diana Birdsall (David), Gerard Bourgeois II (Olga), Brian Bourgeois (Marjorie) and Oliver Bourgeois (Amie); his siblings, Dennis Bourgeois (Elaine) and Irene Bourgeois; his sister-in-law Lucille Conroe (Maynard); and his grandchildren, Matthew Birdsall (Amanda), Meredith Baio (Rosario), Gerard Bourgeois III, Frazer Bourgeois, John Deer (Kari), Benjamin Deer (Hilary), Bethany Yarrobino (Christopher), Bradley Bourgeois (Stephanie), Phillip Bourgeois (Erica), Margaret Bourgeois, Tobias Bourgeois and Hazel Bourgeois. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Morris Rotary Club or the Morris Emergency Squad.
