With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Darlene A. Gates of Morris, New York, born in Binghamton, New York, who passed away on October 12, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Sherwood and Eleanor Sherwood (Chapman); her son William Daniel "Danny" Gates; and her brother-in-law Steve Nickerson. She is survived by: her husband William Edward "Ed" Gates; her sons, Scott Jones of Morris and Mike Jones of Morris; her siblings, Dan Sherwood (Maria), Karen Maclohne (Keith), Janice Nickerson, Debbie Sifinstine (Kim), Maryann Burchett (Mark) and Johnny Sherwood (Barbara); and her mother-in-law Araminta Fravel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
