It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilbur Whitehead (Monticello, New York), born in Uniontown, Alabama, who passed away on November 28, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Freeman and Henry Whitehead; and his siblings, Martha, Henry, Dave, Jimmy and Norman.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Durant; his children, Sharon Haddock of Laurel, MD and Earl Wearing of Bronx, NY; his grandchildren, Keisha of Laurel, MD, Keith Haddock of Laurel, MD and Kaleb Williams of Laurel, MD; his great grandchildren, Kameryn Jackson of Laurel, MD., Kali Santana of Laurel, MD. and Kaison Wearing of Laurel, MD.; his siblings, Priscilla Mason of Uniontown, AL, Bessie Martin of Rochester, NY and Gerard Whitehead of White Plains, NY.; and his sons, Linwood Durant (Brenda) and Corey Williams.
Wilbur was a Prince Hall Mason and occasionally sent monetary donations to support his hometown church in Alabama.
