She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph VanValkenburg and Hallie Sackett Houghtaling; her husband Cornelius "Neil" Avery; and her siblings-in-law, Ruth Price (John), Marjorie Price (Tom) and David Avery.
She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Avery Cheng (Anthony) of Livingston Manor and Kelly Avery Leszczynski of Monticello; her granddaughters, Ellaina, Halie and Marlee; her brothers, Ralph VanValkenburg of Neversink and Milton VanValkenburg of Grahamsville; and her sister-in-law Debbie Avery of Monticello. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
