He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McDowell and Mariam McDowell (Clifton); his wives, Lois and Zelma; his daughter Laura McDowell; his grandson Stephen Evans; and his son-in-law James Bottomley.
He is survived by: his children, Rosemarie Evans (William) of Savannah, Kathleen Miller (Carl), Sandra Bottomley of Canaseraga, Jeffrey McDowell of Phelps and Barbara Van Orden of Hornell; his brother Ralph McDowell (June) of Port Byron; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
