“I grew up with Larry in L.I.C., Queens. For many years we were best friends. We shared a love of books, of jazz, and an offbeat sense of humor. After college, he moved out to California and I moved to Chicago and we lost touch. More recently, we reconnected, when he was living in my town of Nyack. I have very warm memories of Larry, and feel extremely sorrowful that he has left us so early. I'm sorry, 69 years is not enough time. My sympathies to his family, especially to his sister Ann.”
