He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry A. Wiernicki and Maria Wiernicki (Florek); and his siblings, Sophie Henzel, Mitchell, Stanley, Henry, Vincent, Zygmunt and William.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Maranville; his children, Susan Wiernicki of Lincoln, Wendy W. Scott (Peter) of Portland, Oregon, Michael J. Wiernicki (Kim) of McDonough, Georgia, Alan Wiernicki (Michele) of El Paso, Texas, Peter Wiernicki (Sarah) of Franklin, Massachusetts and Paul S. Wiernicki (Emily Scillieri); and his close friends, Jody, Heather, Laura, Gina of Dignity, Ann, Angela, Jan and Ashley. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Vete's memory to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413.

“Vete will be missed bye everyone that knew him. I worked with Vete for over 15 years at MDS in Herkimer, NY We had a lot in common as we were both US Navy Veterans and Electronic Technicians. He taught me about electronics and if I had a question he always had a solution to an electronic problem. I always said "He probably forgot more than I knew about electronics. I have lost a great friend and mentor but not the memory of him and his family. It has been great!! Lee Ritter”
