Maurice W. Monteau Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maurice W. Monteau of Mohawk, New York, who passed away on February 9, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Maurice's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Maurice has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice D. Monteau and Madeline Monteau (Dean); his son William; and his siblings, Wayne and Diane.
He is survived by: his wife Peg; his son Jim Monteau of Mohawk; his sisters, Carole Monteau of California and Joyce Dean of Oregon; and his brother-in-law Richard (Johanna Stowell) of Mohawk.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home (4309 Acme Rd, Ilion, NY 13357). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (71 E Main St, Mohawk, NY 13407).
