He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred H. Fowler and Agnes Fowler (Deits); his spouse Shirley Harcourt Fowler; his sisters, Mary Mount (Oscar), Kathryn Lyons (Vernon), Helen Harris (Jack), Florence Shump (Edward) and Irene "Sue" Coy (Robert); and his brother-in-law Gerald DeWitt.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Fowler (Kathleen) and Patricia Slechta (Marc); his grandchildren, Erin Marlow, Colleen Berry (Raymond), Michael Fowler (Claudette), Catherine Helias (Greg), Matthew Fowler (MaKenzie Melley) and John Slechta; and his sister-in-law Shelby DeWitt (Gerald). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
