He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alfred Arthur Burgess and Alberta Torrence Tate Burgess; his wife Joan Kerwin Burgess; his daughters, Thea and Kate; his son-in-law Stu Mair; his grandsons, Malcolm and Vincent Mair; his sister Janet O'Brien; and his close friend Sebastian. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
