He was predeceased by: his parents, Giovanni Amelio and Antonietta Amelio; his brothers-in-law, Ilario Panetta and Carmine Arrotta; and his close friend Nicola Parrotta.
He is survived by: his wife Esterina; his daughters, Antonietta Jaxel (Rob) and Teresa Amelio; his grandchildren, Daniel and Caroline; and his siblings, Concetta Panetta, Maria Arrotta and Antonio Amelio (Rosina). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
