James Higgins Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Higgins of Middletown, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 8, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Higgins and Katie Higgins; and his siblings, Margaret, Catherine, Norah, Brigid, Cecelia, Julia, Teresa and Patrick.
He is survived by: his wife Yvette; and his children, Lisa Bedosky (Lawrence) of Middletown, James Higgins (Kathleen) of Goshen, Nora Higgins (Rafael) of Middletown, David Higgins (Elizabeth) of Goshen and Andrew Higgins (Lorrane) of West Jordan, Utah.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home (130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY 10940). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A prayer was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (149 Cottage St, Middletown, NY 10940). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Cemetery (149 Cottage St, Middletown, NY 10940).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Jim's memory to Good Counsel Homes (http://www.goodcounselhomes.org), a non-profit organization supporting homeless women and children.
